1 Cor 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I adeclare
unto you the bgospel
which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are asaved,
if ye bkeep in memory what I
preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first
of all that which I also received, how that Christ adied
for our bsins
according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that
he arose again the
third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was aseen
of bCephas,
then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was aseen
of babove
five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this
present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of
James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was aseen
of me also, as of one born out of due time. 9 For I am the least of the
apostles, that am not ameet
to be called an apostle, because I bpersecuted
the church of God. 10 But by the agrace
of God I am what I am: and his grace
which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I blaboured
more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach,
and so ye believed. 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen,
then is our preaching vain,
and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false
witnesses of God; because we have atestified
of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the
dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then
is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised,
your faith is avain;
ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen
asleep in Christ are aperished. 19 If in this alife
only we have bhope in Christ, we are of
all men most miserable. 4 These are they which were not
defiled with awomen;
for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were bredeemed
from among men, being the firstfruits
unto God and to the Lamb. 20 But now is aChrist brisen from the dead,
and become the cfirstfruits
of them that slept. 21 For since by man came adeath,
by man came also the bresurrection
of the dead. 22 For as in aAdam
all bdie,
even so in cChrist
shall all be made dalive. 23 But every man in his own aorder:
Christ the bfirstfruits;
afterward they that are Christ’s at his ccoming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he
shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall
have aput down all brule
and all cauthority
and dpower. 25 For he must areign,
till he hath put all benemies
under his cfeet. 26 The last aenemy
that shall be bdestroyed
is cdeath. 27 For he hath put all things
under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is amanifest
that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be asubdued
unto him, then shall the Son also himself be bsubject
unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. 29 Else what shall they do which
are abaptized
bfor
the dead, if the dead crise
not at all? why are they then baptized for the ddead? 30 And why stand we in ajeopardy
every hour? 31 aI
protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If after the manner of men I
have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth
it me, if the dead rise not? let us aeat
and drink; for bto morrow we die. 33 Be not deceived: evil acommunications
corrupt good manners. 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin
not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your ashame. 35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they
come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it adie: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that
body that shall be, but bare grain, ait may chance of
wheat, or of some other grain: 38 But God giveth it a body as it
hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same
flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts,
another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 aThere
are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the bcelestial
is one, and the glory of the cterrestrial
is another. 41 There is one glory of the asun,
and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the bstars:
for one star cdiffereth
from another star in dglory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It
is sown in acorruption;
it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in aglory:
it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a anatural
body; it is raised a bspiritual body. There is a
natural body, and there is a
spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The afirst
man bAdam
was made a living soul; the last cAdam
was made a dquickening
spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not afirst
which is spiritual, but that which is natural;
and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth,
earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, such are they
also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are
heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image
of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that aflesh
and bblood
cannot cinherit
the kingdom of God; neither doth dcorruption
inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery;
We shall not all asleep, but we
shall all be bchanged, 52 In a moment, in the atwinkling
of an eye, at the last trump: for the btrumpet
shall sound, and the cdead
shall be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be dchanged. 16 For the Lord himself shall adescend
from heaven with ba shout, with the
voice of the carchangel,
and with the dtrump
of God: and the dead in Christ shall erise
first: 31 And he shall send his aangels
with a great sound of a btrumpet,
and they shall gather together his celect
from the four winds, from one end of dheaven
to the other. 53 For this acorruptible
must put on incorruption, and this bmortal
must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on
incorruption, and
this mortal shall have put on aimmortality,
then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, bDeath
is swallowed up in victory. 55 O adeath, where is thy sting? O bgrave,
where is thy victory? 56 The sting of adeath
is sin; and the bstrength
of sin is the law. 57 But athanks
be to God, which giveth us the bvictory
through our Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 7:1616 Who is made, not after the law of a acarnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be ye asteadfast,
unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the
Lord, forasmuch as ye know that
your labour is not in vain in the Lord. |
24 Wherefore, my beloved brethren,
areconcile
yourselves to the bwill
of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after
ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the cgrace
of God that ye are dsaved.
8 He will swallow up adeath in bvictory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the crebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. Alma 27 28 And they did look upon shedding the blood of their brethren with the greatest abhorrence; and they never could be prevailed upon to take up arms against their brethren; and they never did look upon death with any degree of terror, for their hope and views of Christ and the resurrection; therefore, death was swallowed up to them by the victory of Christ over it. 2 Nephi 2:5,18,275 And men are instructed sufficiently that they aknow good from evil. And the blaw is given unto men. And by the law no flesh is cjustified; or, by the law men are dcut off. Yea, by the temporal law they were cut off; and also, by the spiritual law they perish from that which is good, and become miserable forever. Mormon 9:44 Behold, I say unto you that ye would be more miserable to dwell with a holy and just God, under a consciousness of your afilthiness before him, than ye would to dwell with the bdamned souls in chell. Alma 42:1111 And now remember, my son, if it were not for the plan of redemption, (laying it aside) as soon as they were dead their souls were amiserable, being cut off from the presence of the Lord. Alma 12:2626 And now behold, if it were possible that our first parents could have gone forth and partaken of the atree of life they would have been forever miserable, having no preparatory state; and thus the bplan of redemption would have been frustrated, and the word of God would have been void, taking none effect.
2 Nephi 2: 6 Wherefore, aredemption
cometh in and through the bHoly
cMessiah;
for he is full of dgrace
and truth. 7 Behold, he offereth
himself a asacrifice
for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken
heart and a contrite spirit; and unto bnone
else can the cends
of the law be answered. 8 Wherefore, how great the
importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that
they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, asave
it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who blayeth
down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the
Spirit, that he may bring to pass the cresurrection
of the dead, being the first that should rise. 9 Wherefore, he is the firstfruits unto God, inasmuch as he
shall make aintercession
for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved. Helaman 12:66 Behold, they do not desire that the Lord their God, who hath acreated them, should brule and reign over them; notwithstanding his great goodness and his mercy towards them, they do set at cnaught his counsels, and they will not that he should be their guide.
2 Nephi 28:7-87 Yea, and there shall be many which shall say: aEat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die; and it shall be well with us.
Doctrine and Covenants 88:2828 They who are of a celestial aspirit shall receive the same bbody which was a natural body; even ye shall receive your bodies, and your cglory shall be that glory by which your bodies are dquickened. 8 And ye shall never endure the
pains of death; but when I shall come in my glory ye shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye from amortality
to bimmortality;
and then shall ye be blessed in the kingdom of my Father. 25 And it shall come to pass that
when the asecond
trump shall sound then shall they that
never bknew
me come forth and shall stand before me. 13 And because of the redemption
of man, which came by Jesus Christ, they are brought back into the apresence
of the Lord; yea, this is wherein all men are redeemed, because the death of
Christ bringeth to pass the bresurrection,
which bringeth to pass a redemption from an endless csleep,
from which sleep all men shall be awakened by the power of God when the trump shall sound; and they shall come forth, both small
and great, and all shall stand before his bar, being redeemed and loosed from
this eternal dband
of death, which death is a temporal death. 8 He will swallow up adeath in bvictory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the crebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. 8 And thus God breaketh
the abands
of death, having
gained the bvictory
over death; giving
the Son power to make cintercession
for the children of men— Mosiah 16: 6 And now if Christ had not come
into the world, speaking of things to come aas
though they had already come, there could have been no redemption. a)
7 And if Christ
had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that b) the grave
should have no victory,
and that death should have
no asting,
c) there could have been no resurrection. c') 8 But there is a aresurrection,
b’) therefore the grave hath no victory,
and the sting of bdeath
is swallowed up a’)
in Christ 9 He is the alight and the
life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened;
yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death. 10 Even this mortal shall put on aimmortality,
and this bcorruption
shall put on incorruption, and shall be brought to cstand
before the bar of God, to be judged of him according to
their works whether they be good or whether they be evil— 11 If they be good, to the resurrection of aendless
life and bhappiness;
and if they be evil, to the resurrection
of cendless
damnation, being delivered up to the devil, who hath subjected them, which is
damnation— Mormon 7 5 Know ye that ye must come to the
aknowledge
of your fathers, and repent of all your sins and iniquities, and bbelieve
in Jesus Christ,
that he is the Son of God, and that he was slain by the Jews, and by the
power of the Father he hath risen again,
whereby he hath gained the cvictory
over the grave; and
also in him is the sting of
death swallowed up. 6 And he bringeth to pass the aresurrection
of the dead, whereby man must be raised to stand before his bjudgment-seat. 7 And he hath brought to pass the aredemption
of the bworld,
whereby he that is found cguiltless
before him at the judgment day hath it given
unto him to ddwell
in the presence of God in his kingdom, to sing ceaseless praises with the echoirs
above, unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are fone God, in a state
of ghappiness
which hath no end. 14 And since man had afallen
he could not bmerit
anything of himself; but the sufferings and cdeath
of Christ datone
for their sins, through faith and repentance, and so forth; and that he breaketh the bands of death, that the egrave
shall have no victory,
and that the sting of death
should be swallowed up
in the hopes of glory; and Aaron did expound all these things unto the king. 8 And thus God breaketh
the abands
of death, having
gained the bvictory
over death; giving
the Son power to make cintercession
for the children of men— Mosiah
5: 15 Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in agood works, that Christ, the bLord God Omnipotent, may cseal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who dcreated all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen. 1 Nephi 2: 10 And he also spake unto Lemuel: O that thou mightest be like unto this valley, afirm and bsteadfast, and immovable in keeping the commandments of the Lord! Alma 1: 25 Now this was a great trial to those that did stand fast in the faith; nevertheless, they were asteadfast and immovable in keeping the commandments of God, and they bore with bpatience the persecution which was heaped upon them. |
